July 2016 Fourth Thursday Meeting

Today's meeting started out with a boo-boo, but ended with a party! When I filled out the application for the Marble Falls Library meeting room, I should have read a little more carefully. Only Library-related meetings are to be held in July, so we were at a loss what to do. Our intrepid (fearless, adventurous, bold) member Virginia suggested we meet at her house nearby so we did. She had a nice clear wall for the projector and we had a lovely meeting.

Our next meeting on August 11, we'll be practicing the Luau songs we'll be performing at our next gig at Gateway Villas on August 19th, then we'll play the rest of the current songbook, available here in Standard tuning and here in Baritone.

July 2016 Second Thursday Meeting

In order to use our projector at Fuel Coffeehouse we had to sit on the stage, but luckily the group wasn't too large and we worked it out. Love the freedom of having our own projector!

June 2016 Fourth Thursday Meeting

We've purchased a new (to us) projector for the Club, now it's much easier to see and hear each other, as well as being a lot less equipment to haul in and out. Much better than all those monitors! We had three new members this time, our neighbor and friend Opal and Pat's granddaughters Callie and Anna. What a handsome group!

May 2016 Second Thursday Meeting

We met at Fuel Coffeehouse, who has been so gracious to stay open until 7pm to continue hosting Ukulele Club. Our members had a great time doing our songbook, although we didn't quite make it to the Kazoo songs. Well, better luck next time!

April 2016 Fourth Thursday Meeting

Since we've started having meetings in Marble Falls, some of our membership is quite happy because they live there. Sometimes people who are in the library stop to see what's going on. This evening a nice gentleman, Gil, was intrigued and 'just happened' to have his washtub bass in his van. We invited him to join us, we love having a bass player. We're pretty sure he had a good time.

April 2016 Second Thursday Meeting

We've added another member to our roster, Jon, who claims not to have touched his uke in 10 years or so. Looks like he's picking right up where he left off. He has a lovely classic uke and has taken great care of it so he's on his way. It was a great meeting and a good time was had by all.
